PHOENIX, ARIZONA (April 5, 2022) – AZCREW, the commercial real estate organization that exists to transform the industry by advancing women globally, will serve up a delectable panel at its April lunch to discuss retail/restaurant trends.
“The Valley’s commercial real estate retail market has witnessed a resurgence post-COVID-19,” said moderator Carol Schillne, Senior Vice President, Orion Investment Real Estate. “Consumer spending was up 18.6 percent at the end of 2021, compared to January 2020 and retail vacancy rates are down 7.2 percent.
“We’ll explore the fast-paced changing landscape of retail and restaurants – with a look at where the opportunities lie and what lessons we are learning. We have assembled a dynamic panel of retail experts. They each bring industry expertise to the table,” Schillne said.
The program is scheduled for April 19 from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., at the E-Center Esplanade, 2401 E. Camelback Road in Phoenix. Networking and lunch are from 11:30 a.m. to noon. The program is from noon to 1 p.m.

PHOENIX, ARIZONA (April 4, 2022) – DFDG Architecture, an Arizona leader in architectural and interior design, announces a leadership transition in which Principal Darrin Orndorff will become President effective April 4.
Orndorff will assume the responsibilities of Michael Schmitt, who has held the position of President since 2007. Schmitt will dedicate focus to his role as the firm’s Design Principal. True to the vision laid out by the firm’s founders, this transition ensures the continuity of leadership and values that have underpinned DFDG’s success for more than 50 years. It will propel it through another 50 years of service to its clients and community.

Orndorff moved to Arizona from Kansas after graduating from Kansas State University in 1987. He is a current member of the American Institute of Architects (AIA) and the International Code Council (ICC). Outside the office, he enjoys volleyball, hiking, and riding his road bike.
As one of Arizona’s highly recognized architects, Schmitt will be dedicated to the mentorship of the firm’s talented staff and lead DFDG’s design excellence and sustainability initiatives across all the firm’s projects.
Raised on a cattle and horse ranch in Kansas, Schmitt also graduated from Kansas State University in 1979, is a member of the AIA, and many professional organizations. He enjoys fly fishing, camping, and skiing excursions with his family and friends.

PHOENIX, ARIZ. (March 31, 2022) – Managing Director Mark Wilcke, a top producer with NAI Horizon specializing in industrial/commercial buildings and land sales and leasing, represented the seller in the sale of 12.89 acres of commercial land located just south of the SWC of 181st Street and Warner Road in Gilbert, Arizona.
The sale fetched a price of $3.1 million. Wilcke represented the seller, Phoenix Warner, LLC, of San Diego, California.
“The buyer intends on building an industrial project,” Wilcke said. “This site has excellent accessibility to the Loop 202 freeway. The industrial land market is extremely competitive due to all of the land being purchased for new industrial developments.”
Wilcke has been extremely active selling land in the Metro Phoenix and Casa Grande markets over the past year, the latter market becoming an active manufacturing hub in Arizona.

Moeller, who has been with GLHN for 26 years, will assist Zhang in the development of her career and the success of the Electrical Engineering Department. He will continue as a company Vice President and member of the GLHN ESOP Board of Trustees and GLHN Board of Directors.
A native of New York State, Moeller earned a Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from The Cooper Union for the Advancement of Science and Art and a Master of Fine Arts degree from the University of Arizona.
Moeller serves as an adjunct instructor at the University of Arizona, teaching power engineering at the College of Engineering’s Department of Civil and Architectural Engineering and Mechanics. PHOENIX, ARIZONA (March 22, 2022) – NAI Horizon represented the tenant, an insulation and window blinds contractor, in a long-term lease at Willis AZ Avenue Corporate Park in Chandler, Arizona.
NAI Horizon Executive Vice President Jeff Adams represented Big City Insulation, Inc., a Utah Corporation and subsidiary of Installed Building Products (IBP), in the $1.2 million lease for 22,853 SF at 221 E. Willis Road in Chandler.
Big City Insulation provides insulation and window blinds for commercial and residential clients. The new space features a highly desirable end cap with plenty of parking and loading space.
The industrial building was constructed in 2015 and totals 75,217 SF.
“This is my fifth transaction with this large national client, which is ultra-responsive and fantastic to work with,” Adams said. “They initially came to me through a terrific NAI network relationship I have in Ohio. This space allowed this subsidiary to efficiently grow but maximize all available area.
“This southeast-facing project endcap is secure and also affords my client the advantage to store multiple clean vehicles. The interior is efficient and laid out for them to put both local businesses side-by-side within the same space and still get proper separation and monitoring,” Adams said.

SCOTTSDALE, ARIZONA (March 17, 2022) – LevRose CRE/TCN Worldwide kicked off the year with multiple sales and over 40 leases totaling almost 100,000 SF. The transactions closed by LevRose CRE professionals include land and office properties.
Recent deals from January to February:
Land: Vice President Anna Sepic facilitated the land sale of 18700 W. Grand Ave., in Phoenix The 53 acres was sold by Grand 53, LLC and purchased by FAEC PBO Deer Valley & 185th Avenue, LLC.
Land: Partner Aaron Norwood represented the seller of 1911 E. Apache Blvd. in Tempe, Arizona. The 30,056 SF development opportunity was sold by AES Property Development, LLC, to JMA Recovery Enterprises, LLC.
Land: Partners Danielle Davis and Trent McCullough represented the buyer in the sale of 6926 and 6930 E. 2nd St. in Scottsdale. The property was sold by Acratac Investments, LLC to Soleil Improvement Co., LLC for $1.655 million.
Office: Partners Danielle Davis, Trent McCullough, Keri Davies, and Jason Reddington represented both the landlord, Cramer Family Trust and the tenant, EAZ Phoenix LLC on the lease of 6939 E. 1st St., Scottsdale.
