PHOENIX, ARIZ. (March 16, 2018) – The Business Development Guild, a source of education, coaching, and support for the business development profession, is accepting applications for its 2018 Certified Business Developer (CBD) program. It begins May 15.
The BD Guild is partnering with Arizona State University’s Ira A. Fulton Schools of Engineering on the curriculum, which is designed in six modules encompassing two class sessions of 90 minutes each. Each module is held the third Tuesday of each month beginning in May.
The curriculum is a comprehensive view of the numerous aspects, skill sets and market understanding that make up the business development profession. The program is viewed as a critical element in training current and the next generation of BD professionals. The curriculum is designed to take the BD professional and their organization to the next level. The benefits of obtaining the CBD include:
- Maximizing return on BD investment;
- Practical applications to daily activity;
- Advanced industry knowledge;
- Access to industry experts;
- Improved communications with the operations team;
- Understanding best in class revenue generation.
“We’re excited about the 2018 class and future Certified Business Developers,” said Joseph McGovern, co-founder of the Valley-based BD Guild. “The faculty is experts in their field and with our partnership with ASU’s Fulton Schools of Engineering, the BD Guild and CBD curriculum are raising the bar of the for the BD profession.”
The cost for the program is $1,800 for BD Guild members; $2,100 for non-members; and a millennial rate of $1,500 (35 and under). Lunch is served at each class.

Pretty heady stuff, all are working papers co-authored by Mary C. Daly, guest speaker as the Phoenix chapter of Lambda Alpha International (LAI) presents the Executive Vice President and Director of Research for the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco.
In her role, Daly oversees key research functions and supports the development of monetary policy by guiding and providing relevant economic and financial analyses. She is also the chair of the Bank’s Diversity Council, committed to creating an inclusive environment where employees have an opportunity to grow and develop.
Daly also serves on the Bank’s Executive Committee in charge of strategic direction and policy for the Twelfth District. She began her career as an economist at the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco in 1996 after completing a National Institute of Aging Post-Doctoral Fellowship at Northwestern University.
Her research focuses on topics including labor economics, economic inequality, wage and unemployment dynamics, and disability and retirement policy. She has collaborated with scholars in a multitude of fields and from around the globe to bring economic analysis into the development of effective and sustainable public policies.

PHOENIX, ARIZ. (March 14, 2018) – Phoenix-based Iconic Design Studio (IDS) and AWE Corporate Interiors are combining their talents to represent the design and furniture industries at the 2018 Western Regional Dental Experience (WRDE) in Glendale, Arizona.
IDS is a full-service interior design firm led by Owner/Principal Kelli Berry. AWE Corporate Interiors is a commercial furniture dealership that specializes in office furniture and related services. AWE is owned by President and CEO Andrea Moseley. Both are women-owned companies.
The two firms will collaborate on “Iconic & AWE: One & Done Dental Design” at the 2018 WRDE, scheduled for April 12-14 at the Renaissance Glendale Resort & Spa.
“IDS has been actively involved in the delivery of interior design services for the dental market for the past four years,” said Berry, who possesses more than 40 years of experience in design and interior subcontracting. “We’ve managed the interior design, signage, logo, and branding scope for more than 20 locations from North Carolina to Mississippi to Texas and Arizona.”
Besides providing interior design services, IDS also offers consultation on conceptual interior space.

WRDE brings together more than 1,000 dental industry professionals who provide comprehensive information on the latest dental-related technology including diagnostic tools, radiography, sterilization, dental equipment, billing and marketing solutions, general contracting, interior design, and logo branding. There will be numerous speakers covering topics from risk management, ethics, regulatory missteps, and a myriad of other topics.
The event is organized by the Arizona Dental Association. It features more than 55 speakers and 131 exhibitors. The keynote speaker is Arizona Cardinals star wide receiver, Larry Fitzgerald.

TEMPE, ARIZ. (March 13, 2018) – Terracon, an engineering consulting firm, continues to grow its Arizona presence with the hiring of Marketing Specialist Danielle Intorf.
Intorf will be responsible for helping the Arizona office reach potential partners and maintain relationships with Terracon’s current clients. She previously worked in the marketing department at Wespac Construction.
“Terracon has built a strong reputation, but we haven’t been the best at communicating our reputation and diverse capabilities to the Arizona market,” Terracon Senior Client Development Manager and Principal Chuck Reynolds said.

PHOENIX, ARIZONA (March 7, 2018) – NAI Horizon continues its office growth in Arizona announcing the hiring of two new associates, Logan Crum and Dylan Whitwer.
Crum joins NAI Horizon’s Investment Services Group. Whitwer joins the Office Properties Group.
Crum will assist Senior Vice Presidents Lane Neville and Barbara Lloyd with their brokerage activities. This includes client relationship-building, market research, leasing services, presentation preparation, and buyer/seller representation in investment transactions.
A native of Spokane, Washington, Crum graduated from the University of Arizona in 2017 with a Bachelor of Science degree in urban and regional development and a minor in Geographic Information Systems (GIS). He holds an Arizona Real Estate License.
While at UA, Crum interned at NAI Horizon’s Tucson office, creating marketing materials for the Tucson and Phoenix offices. Other duties included mapping, site research, and preparation of site information. Crum also completed an internship at the NAI Black office in Spokane.
Whitwer joins Senior Vice President Laurel Lewis as a tenant representative. He will be responsible for assisting in transaction management as well as developing new tenant relationships and providing market intelligence.
A native of Phoenix, Whitwer earned a BS in communications with a minor in business at Arizona State University in 2015. He is active in industry groups Accelerent and Valley Partnership, where he served as a member of it Advocates (young leaders group).
Whitwer joins NAI Horizon after spending four years working for an environmental and geotechnical engineering firm. He was responsible for environmental site assessments.

PHOENIX, ARIZ. (March 1, 2018) – U.S. Congressman David Schweikert will tackle a variety of issues as NAIOP Arizona presents a special event as part of its Market Leaders series.
Rep. Schweikert, R-Ariz., serving his fourth term in the U.S. Congress, will speak at the Biltmore Center Conference Room, Suite 180, 2398 E. Camelback Rd., on Friday, March 9. The event begins at 11:30 a.m. with networking and lunch.
Rep. Schweikert holds a seat on the Ways and Means Committee, having previously served on the Financial Services Committee. He is also the Republican Co-Chair of the House Blockchain Caucus.
