AVONDALE, ARIZONA (May 19, 2020) – Looking to mirror the growth of the West Valley, Phoenix West Commercial, a full-service real estate brokerage firm in Avondale, is expanding as well.
“We know the West Valley better than anyone. With our relationships and knowledge, we can help others make connections and grow their commercial real estate business,” said Bobbie Mastracci, CCIM, SIOR, Designated Broker/Principal of Phoenix West Commercial.
Mastracci said leadership and mentoring are two pillars upon which her firm is built. It takes a leadership role as a company in the West Valley and she has personally focused on that submarket as her area of specialty since 2006.

Bobbie Mastracci
“We close deals all over the state and throughout the country in collaboration with other brokers,” Mastracci said. “We do close many deals outside of the West Valley, but that is where our leadership lies.”
Phoenix West Commercial professionals lease and sell office, retail, industrial and medical office properties. It also sells land. Mastracci said her goal is to have groups of three to four brokers in each property type. The company currently has eight professionals at its office at 125 S. Avondale, Blvd., Suite 100.
“I don’t want one sector to be the lead or be known as a particular sector brokerage,” she said. “If we started with a senior agent with experience that could then recruit junior agents to work under and with them, that would be ideal.”
Phoenix West Commercial offers professional amenities that include flexibility, a team environment, and a modern office with large conference room for client meetings. Advanced analysis tools for its agents include RealNex Market Edge.
“Our team of professionals recognize that our success is built on the growth and success of the clients we represent; not on any one transaction, but the cherished long-term relationship of trust and service with each of them,” said senior broker Bob Myers.
“We are looking for anyone who fits the requirements to which we prescribe including an entrepreneurial spirit and experience,” Mastracci said.
Providing mentorship to new brokerage professionals is key to a successful recruitment effort, Mastracci stressed. During her career she has mentored brokerage professionals who came from the residential side as well as those with little or no commercial real estate experience.
“With the changes we have in place offering more service and less fees, I think we will have better success in retention,” Mastracci said. “Commercial real estate is a full-time profession and one needs an entrepreneurial spirit to be a top producer or even succeed.”
Mastracci is an advocate for membership in the various industry groups. She has served twice as president of the Central Arizona CCIM Chapter; was CCIM Region II vice president overseeing and supporting 11 chapters for a two-year term; and is co-founder (in 2007) of the West Valley Commercial Real Estate Group.
“Company culture is what it’s all about,” Mastracci said. “We are given so much and are blessed to be in the position to give back not only to our profession but to our community; financially and volunteering time.”

Mothers, grandmothers and great grandmothers were treated to a parade, a “rolling buffet,” gifts and roses. LivGenerations Pinnacle Peak is an independent living, assisted living and memory care community with 116 residents at 23733 N. Scottsdale Road, in Scottsdale.

PHOENIX, ARIZONA (May 12, 2020) – The Phoenix Kidder Mathews healthcare team represented the landlord in long-term leases at a repurposed Maytag appliance store in Goodyear that will be occupied by four diverse healthcare tenants.
The team of Senior Vice Presidents Michael Dupuy and Tyler Smith and Vice President Rachael Thompson negotiated the long-term lease on behalf of Whiteboard Development Company, LLC, Principal Colin Brown, a locally- and family-owned real estate office.
Kidder Mathews fully leased Cornerstone Medical Center, 13481 W. McDowell Road, just 14 months after its purchase. Tenants include Cigna, ResCare, Valley Sleep Center and the Center for Autism and Related Disorders (CARD).
“The redevelopment vision for Cornerstone Medical Center was inspired by the concept of ‘connectivity,’” Brown said. “The Whiteboard objective was to create a distinctive project with energized and connected space to attract and inspire lead health and wellness companies committed to provide innovative healthcare services for Goodyear’s community as well as the entire West Valley.
“The vision, execution and positive community impact would not have been possible without the support and efforts of the City of Goodyear, project design and construction team, Kidder Mathews and local community partners,” Brown said.
Cornerstone Medical Center is an approximately 20,235 RSF building being repurposed for a medical use from a retail use. Exterior renovations include “reskinning” the building and a new window package. The stand-alone, former Maytag store sat empty for 18 months before Whiteboard Development purchased and partnered with the City of Goodyear to reconfigure it to accommodate healthcare use.
“Thank you to Whiteboard Development Company for its creative vision and adaptive reuse of a former retail building, which sits in the heart of the Goodyear Medical Innovation Corridor,” said Goodyear Mayor Georgia Lord. “Kidder Mathews’ assistance also played a pivotal role in bringing first-class tenants to this facility, expanding the vast range of medical and healthcare services to our rapidly growing community. We look forward to more exciting opportunities this extraordinary partnership will bring in the near future.”
Cornerstone Medical Center also includes a tenant entry floating shade trellis and an updated comprehensive sign plan to best maximize tenant exposure as well as better direct patron traffic.
The asset is strategically located at the cornerstone of one of the West Valley’s fastest-growing communities. It offers a quick two-minute drive to the I-10 freeway, providing easy access to housing, entertainment and retail amenities.
“It was a pleasure working with Colin Brown and the City of Goodyear to get Cornerstone Medical Center fully leased,” Thompson said. “Even in our current climate, well-located and well-positioned healthcare product continues to be in demand.”
The Abrazo West Campus is located within walking distance and the project is not encumbered with any use restrictions.
The tenants were represented by Bryce Terveen, CBRE (Cigna and ResCare); Eric Campos, Benchmark Commercial (Valley Sleep Center); and Brian Forster, Pacific Partners Commercial (CARD).

PHOENIX, ARIZ. (May 5, 2020) – When the Town of Gilbert Development Services Department points to an example of a light industrial building that meets and exceeds its design standards, it looks no further than the Hawkins Design Group’s office/warehouse, which was designed by award-winning firm Cawley Architects.
Hawkins Design Group is a professional electrical engineering firm that also specializes in photovoltaic (PV) solar energy systems. The $3 million, 12,275 SF building is a mixed-use project with business office operations (6,000 SF) as the primary occupancy along with a large warehouse area (6,275 SF).
“This project consists of corporate offices for one of the Valley’s most successful family-owned electrical engineering firms. It’s a point of pride that a consulting engineering firm could build its own building that is an ongoing company resource as well as an example of its professional accomplishments,” said Cawley President/Founder Sherman Cawley, AIA, SIOR.
A unique steel-framed canopy over the main entry glass wall defines the entrance to the building. This feature is replicated over the office windows to enhance the façade of the building. Similarly, steel beams continue around the side of the building to cover the large outdoor patio making it an ideal place for group gatherings during any season.
As an energy-efficient feature, and to display their solar business, they installed photo-voltaic solar panels on the building roof and parking structures.
The main interior focus of the project is the open space office area, where project managers work in a collaborative office environment highlighted by outstanding light fixtures. The office area is supported by an impressive conference room and a flexible break room area that opens onto a large, expansive covered patio. Unique contemporary lighting schemes are featured in each private office to illustrate the variety of possible fixtures and effects that a customer may choose to showcase in their business.
Cawley Architects worked closely with Dave Hawkins and his executive team to incorporate favorite decorative themes into the project. These include an enormous tank of saltwater fish, photos of fishing expeditions, and other marine-themed mementos.

The lobby, conference room, open office area and break room floors have been painted a stunning deep blue color reflecting owner Dave Hawkins’ love of the ocean and its bounty. Subtle blue and white accent lighting can be observed throughout the interior as well.

“We began looking at pre-owned buildings nearly 3 years ago when we realized we needed a larger workspace for our team,” Hawkins said. “After touring many existing buildings and realizing that none of them ‘fit the bill’, we approached Cawley Architects to begin to investigate the potential of designing a ground-up.
“The incredible team at Cawley Architects not only accepted the task, but created a space far beyond anything we could have imagined. By taking simple ideas that our management team had about how we wanted the space to feel, Cawley was able to design our building as a showroom for our clients while taking into account the needs and desires of our entire workforce, creating a ‘home away from home’ for our team to enjoy,” Hawkins added.
Other features of the project, 1140 W. Harwell Road, include a secured yard and a large warehouse area for Hawkins’ vehicles and storage of supplies.
The general contractor for the project was Kennedy Design Build.
