RestorationHQ leaps forward in market, making strides through growth, resiliency, restructuring

News & Updates

PHOENIX, ARIZ. (June 2, 2021) – Celebrating its fifth anniversary in 2020, RestorationHQ, a damage restoration services firm, showed its resiliency by achieving 31 percent growth in volume despite the COVID-19 pandemic.

“The growth was a result of well-trained and properly qualified technicians and a management team that stepped up and committed to the needs of our clients when they were facing loss and uncertainty during the pandemic,” said Owner Sergei Guk. “COVID cleanings contributed to, but were only a small part (8 percent) of, our growth.”

RestorationHQ Owner Sergei Guk

RestorationHQ is an emergency services contractor with services that include emergency response and mitigation from water intrusions and fire damage; mold remediation; asbestos abatement; hazmat/bio-cleaning services; post-mitigation reconstruction and other building-related emergency issues.

RestorationHQ did not use the pandemic as an opportunity to go out and start doing new services. Instead, it chose to use the time to refine and develop its internal structure and processes and strengthen its partnerships, Guk said.

“We started this company to elevate the industry beginning with, and always returning to, the experience of the people we serve,” Guk said. “With us, you’ve got a crew of people who’ve joined your team – not just another vendor. We care about your loss like it’s our own.”

After two years of operation, RestorationHQ generated $2.5 million in revenue in 2017. In March 2018, Guk completed a management buyout with a business partner that total increased to $3 million in 2018. Last year, RestorationHQ witnessed $5 million in revenue.

The company is anticipating further growth (20 percent) in 2021 with a restructured marketing and sales team to adjust to the new times post-COVID as well as initiate growth in the new markets. The entire team has been redesigned beginning with the addition of Brandie Hopwood as Director of Business Development, Sales and Marketing, according to Guk.

RestorationHQ also hired five additional team members who service their own unique verticals in current markets based on their specialty.

“We are targeting the national market space,” Guk said about the company’s growth. “We hired a business coach (Michael Erath with Next Level Growth) and have initiated a plan to structure the company for multistate work.”

Guk said that includes writing and testing the brand manual, cultivating relationships outside of Arizona to allow for expansion into new markets, and starting additional entities that will ultimately support the franchise model for all its needs.

RestorationHQ holds more than 20 current certifications, trainings, and safety courses including the IICRC (the Institute of Inspection, Cleaning and Restoration Certification, the certifying body for the inspection, cleaning and restoration industry), AHERA Accreditation (Asbestos Hazards Emergency Response Act), EPA, OSHA, and other governing bodies responsible for compliance regulation and continued education.

Central Arizona CCIM chapter opens up, gives back to community at Feed My Starving Children

News & Updates

PHOENIX, ARIZ. (June 1, 2021) – For the Central Arizona chapter of CCIM, it was an opportunity to once again network in person while at the same time, and more importantly, give back to the community.

More than 20 members of the chapter gathered in May to volunteer at Feed My Starving Children in Mesa. During its 2-hour shift, the Central Arizona chapter of CCIM packed 60 boxes.

That represented 12,960 meals that will feed 34 kids for one year.

Many of the chapter members brought their own children and families. They gathered after the event for an in-person get-together.

“It’s an incredible experience to join together for an event like this, knowing you’re impacting the lives of so many children,” said chapter President Todd Hamilton, CCIM, SIOR, with Citywide Commercial. “I’m so proud to be a part of the Central Arizona CCIM chapter. The best and brightest commercial real estate professionals working side by side for a great cause.”

Feed My Starving Children is a nonprofit organization dedicated to seeing every child whole in body and spirit. It works with food distribution partners that stay with communities for the long term, empowering them to move from relief to development.

Feed My Starving Children meals are developed by food science and nutrition professionals to supplement nutritional needs and reduce problems with malnutrition. The organization estimates that at least 6,200 children die each day from causes related to undernutrition.

May’s chapter gathering is just one of many in-person events it is planning for the remainder of 2021.

Valley real estate firm Wakeman Integrity closes on pair of office building deals totaling $3.53M

News & Updates

PEORIA, ARIZ.  (May 19, 2021) – Wakeman Integrity, LLC, a woman-owned commercial real estate brokerage firm, closed a pair of office complex sales totaling $3.53 million, representing the buyer in one deal and representing the seller in the second deal.

President/Designated Broker Melynn Wakeman represented the buyer, 6155 E. Indian School, LLC of Scottsdale, Arizona, in the $2.6 million acquisition of Arcadia Green, a garden office complex at 6155 E. Indian School Road, in Scottsdale.

Wakeman represented the seller, Sunny Internal Medicine and Pediatrics, PLLC of Avondale, Arizona, in the $925,000 disposition of Coronado Professional Plaza, a medical office condominium at 3400 N. Dysart Road, Suite B127, in Avondale.

“Given how robust the market is today, we were thrilled for the opportunity to acquire the much sought-after Arcadia Green property for our well-deserved client, in his first commercial transaction,” Wakeman said. “The medical office sale in Avondale was one of the only medical offices available in the market, resulting in multiple offers near the $300-per-square-foot price range, which allowed our clients, a husband-and-wife physician team, to take a portion of the funds to pay off their medical school loan debt. A true win, win for all.”

Arcadia Greens totals 10,800 SF with more than 200 feet of frontage on Indian School Road. It features low-water desert landscaping and solar panels that keep expenses down. The building was designed to take advantage of the spectacular views of Camelback Mountain from the second floor. Wakeman Integrity holds the lease listing for the building. The owner plans on occupying 1,000 SF in the asset.

Coronado Professional Plaza totals 3,127 SF of medical office space in the bustling West Valley. The medical office condo offers 10 exam rooms, a procedure room, two ADA restrooms, a lab, two separate waiting areas for both sick and well patients, and one private office. It is located within 5 miles of Abrazo West Valley Medical Campus Level 1 Trauma Center in Goodyear, Arizona.

In the Scottsdale deal, Adam Tolson with Lee & Associates Arizona represented the seller, BHG Commercial, LLC of Scottsdale. In the Avondale deal, Rich Andrus with Menlo Group Commercial Real Estate represented the buyer, SWGI Land Holdings, LLC of Avondale.

Paragon Development Group closes on 15.67 acres in Apache Junction for luxury, 195-unit build-to-rent single-family community

News & Updates

CHANDLER, Ariz. (May 6, 2021) – Paragon Development Group recently closed on the $3.1 million purchase of 15.67 acres in the Southeast Valley. The site, located on the NEC of West Southern Avenue and South Meridian Road in Apache Junction, Arizona, is slated to become Hampton Meridian, a new 195-unit luxury build-to-rent community. The new community will provide residents with convenient and direct access to US 60, and offers a low-maintenance, luxurious lifestyle in a gated and private community. Construction of the site is beginning immediately, with its first units expected to be available in March 2022.

Modeled after its Arizona Multihousing Association award-winning community Hampton East, Paragon Development Group is creating Hampton Meridian with one-, two- and three-bedroom attached and detached residences ranging in size from 645 square feet to 1,295 square feet. Community amenities will include a pool, spa, sundeck, outdoor kitchens, fitness center and fire pit in addition to community lawns and open spaces, community pedestrian paths, dog park and onsite property management.

“Following the success of our communities in Mesa, Paragon has identified the continuation of the growth from Mesa into western Apache Junction and along the US 60 as a prime opportunity to bring our luxury residential rental option without a mortgage, HOA and other homeownership burdens to our residents,” said Bruce Dunn, president of Paragon Development Group. “The demand for convenient, new and well-located residential rental choices in the US 60 corridor and within 30 minutes to Downtown Phoenix contributed significantly to Paragon’s decision to develop another of its build-to-rent communities in the Southeast Valley submarket, and we are excited to be growing here.”

Consistent with Paragon’s other build-to-rent community neighborhoods, Hampton Meridian will utilize Tempe-based HercuTech’s HercuWall® panelized structural wall system consisting of concrete, steel, polyester film and insulating foam. In addition to creating nearly soundproof residences, HercuWall® will enable The Hampton Meridian residents to achieve energy savings up to 40% as compared to residences built without HercuWall®.

“The combination of location, design, amenities, efficiency and the use of HercuWall® are integral parts of The Hampton Meridian’s consistency with our other communities,” said Paragon executive vice president Scott Turkington.

Hampton Meridian’s pet-friendly residences will include ample covered parking, optional garages, private backyards and front entries, open floor plans, 10-foot ceilings, granite and quartz countertops, full size washers and dryers and stainless-steel appliances.

Rental rates for the Hampton Meridian residences will be released prior to opening and will be competitively priced with surrounding community rentals and Class A apartments.
